We are University of Kentucky’s undergraduate literary journal. Run by UK students, The Bluegrass Muse seeks to promote the diverse talents of writers and creators at UK by publishing high caliber works that represent the university's best artists.



We are now taking submissions for our Spring 2023 publication. The initial cut off date to send in submissions is currently February 28th 2023, but as we are new, we may have an extensions, follow us online for updates. 

The theme for our spring 2023 publication is: Starting over, anew, fresh beginnings

We are accepting works in poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. Submission should be a maximum of 3,000 words.

EGSO Symposium Keynote: Dr. Rita Felski

Dr. Felski’s research centers on aesthetics, method, and interpretation. She also has longstanding interests in feminist theory, modernity and postmodernity, genre, comparative literature, and cultural studies. In 2016 she was awarded a Niels Bohr Professorship by the Danish National Research Foundation to lead a large research project on "Uses of Literature: The Social Dimensions of Literature." Zoom link:
