Erik Reece

Erik Reece is the author of ten books of nonfiction and poetry, most recently CLEAR CREEK: TOWARD A NATURAL PHILOSOPHY (nonfiction) and KINGFISHER BLUES (poetry.) His book LOST MOUNTAIN: A YEAR IN THE VANISHING WILDERNESS won Columbia University's John. B. Oakes Award for Distinguished Environmental Journalism and the Sierra Club's David R. Brower Award for Environmental Excellence. His work has appeared, in HARPER'S, ORION, THE ATLANTIC, THE OXFORD AMERICAN, THE NEW YORK TIMES, and elsewhere. 

Erik grew up in Louisville, studied with Guy Davenport at the University of Kentucky, and has been teaching writing and literature at UK since 1997. He is currently at work on a collection of essays about rivers, fly fishing and friendship.
