My research examines multiethnic North American literature, which I interpret in relation to critical theory, attending in particular to topics such as gender, race and class. I approach American studies from a materialist perspective, through the lens of Marxist historiographies of racial capitalism. I have a doctorate from The Graduate Center at the City University of New York, completed under the supervision of Eric Lott. I also have a Master's in Comparative Literature from the University of Copenhagen, and a Master's in English from the University of Virginia.

My book manuscript, Marginal Forms: Crisis, Possibility and Multiethnic Writing, examines the political meanings of the past in contemporary fiction.
