Join us for a screening of Mighty Harlan County.
Mighty Harlan County follows a group of miners formerly employed by BlackJewel Mining. In Summer of 2019 the company abruptly filed bankruptcy leaving the miners unemployed. Soon after their checks started bouncing and money already deposited in their accounts was clawed back. A handful of miners decided to take a stand. They went down and blocked the tracks refusing to let the coal that they mined be sold until they were paid. Numbers grew quickly on the tracks as the legal battle to get them paid ensued.
