Do you struggle to distill your argument into an abstract? Have you failed to place your papers at prestigious conferences? Do you sometimes feel that there are generic expectations, even a correct format, of which you haven’t been made aware?
Or perhaps you have questions about conferencing, and how to do it well: how do you use a conference to network? Which conferences should be prioritize?
Please plan to attend a Literature Division event on abstracts and conferencing. “How to Write a Conference Abstract” will take place on Tuesday, April 30 at 10:30 am in POT 1245. A panel of professors will share their best advice on the form of the abstract. There will also be a workshop component to the event: we’ll comment on anonymized student samples and suggest improvements.
We hope to get a high number of people in attendance. Please RSVP in advance. https://forms.gle/XYstbCkaC327LSwY9.
If you’d like your abstract to be one of the student samples, then please send it along to Mike Genovese at Michael.genovese@uky.edu. It will be anonymized prior to the event by Mike. The abstracts can be accepted, rejected or yet-to-be-submitted; please specify which they are.
